As a free birth mom, I chose to keep my children free from the state and opted to go without applying for birth certificates and social security numbers. Traveling the world and world schooling my children has long been a dream of mine. I was elated when I found out that I could get my children passports without the normal registering documents. I created this guide to help others who are interested in doing the same, having a step-by-step guide with notes from my experiences and templates for ease of use to increase your success with getting approved. It will save you plenty of time, worry, and money by following this guide to getting your children a passport.

Having gone through this process two times and successfully receiving passports each time, I have updated the original guide to share more of my personal experiences and how I overcame the various challenges that this process may bring including samples of correspondences. I felt these additions brought more real life value to this guide to encourage and empower families even more to see this process through to end.
Bonus Material - In response to many of the common questions and concerns I’ve received over the years, I have added bonus information that may assist parents with supplying the correct documentation to support your child’s passport application in the cases of an estranged parent, or one unable to physically be present at the passport appointment.
